20 more thank-you notes to write. Sheesh. I got a whopping 6 done today, but we can send out the officiate's and the photographer's at least. I do want to get them done before we move, and ideally before the six-month mark, which is this month. Gulp.

the first thank-you note!

Whoa! I've officially written the first thank-you note (only almost four months later, whoops)! Well, I wrote a few to work colleagues the month after, but this is the bulk of them and I've been putting it off far too long. I hope to get 3 done today, which is a small goal, but it will get me started. I have tomorrow off, so I hope to get a lot done tomorrow as well.

EDIT: Ha, I got 8 done! I knew if I set a ridiculously small goal I'd do better than (or at least!) that. That's about 20% of the thank-you notes.

Stuff I'd like to get at Disney

So, I got to thinking yesterday, about the various stuff I'd like to buy when Jen and I go to Disney this October. So, without further ado...

  1. A really nice keychain. I'd prefer silver. Something like this would be great.
  2. A good quality hooded sweatshirt. I'm not sure if I want a pull-over or a zip-up, but I think I'm leaning towards the former. Big, baggy, extra-soft and ultra-comfortable. Maybe with Eeyore, or the old b&w Mickey Mouse. (no school like the old school)
  3. I'd love to get some nice glasses and a cool set of dishes. Kindof a random thing to get at Disneyworld I know, but I think they'd be really special, and the World Showcase at Epcot would likely have some really cool stuff to choose from.
  4. A Turkey Leg at Magic Kingdom, and a Sweet Pretzel at Norway in Epcot. I know these really aren't souvenirs, per se, but I would die a little inside if I didn't get them while I was there.
  5. One of those mickey ears thingies you put on top of your car's radio antenna would be really neat, though not hugely vital.
  6. A queen-size blanket made out of sweatshirt material. This would last forever and I can envision many a night curled up with jen on the couch with it. mmm... nice mental image.
  7. A cool mousepad for my computer. Also kindof random, but it's something I see rather a lot each and every day, so this would be a pretty neat souvenir.
  8. A nice beer glass from Germany in Epcot.
  9. A Disney-themed bath sheet would be really cool, though I've no idea if this is even available.
  10. Other stuff I can't think of at the moment.

Phew. Invitations and place cards purchased. (Very nice invitations from Gartner Studios, and it comes with a free "fancy font" download.)

Rings have been taken in to be sized. (I apparently forgot I was a 4.75 ring size. WTF.) Those should be back to us by the 25th of this month.

Six invitations printed for tomorrow, because loupi should be seeing those people and he can hand-deliver, saving us postage. We still need to print their envelopes, but I can handle taking a wine break first!

romance

I think just about the only thing I'm going to miss not having is something silly and based on something in TV and movies (specifically the BBC's Chronicles of Narnia and Much Ado About Nothing);

and that's flower petals.

I just think it's ridiculously romantic to have hundreds of flower petals showering from above you. And that's certainly not feasible with a courthouse wedding.
